Frits Tazelaar is professor of sociology at the Department of Sociology – Faculty of Social Sciences - of Utrecht University, The Netherlands. His research interests include economic sociology (e.g. the governance of relations between business partners), behavioral economics and managerial and organizational issues such as managers´ judgments, decision-making and risk assessment, as well as labour market issues.

Moreover, his research interests include social networks and networks between business firms, and multi actor research. In these domains he published a dozen books and edited book volumes, over thirty research monographs, over fourty chapters in edited volumes, and more than thirty articles in refereed scientific journals, both in English (such as Acta Sociologica, European Sociological Review, Sociologica Neerlandica, Journal of Applied Social Psychology, Ageing and Society, Research on Aging, Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, Journal of Management and Governance), in German (such as Kölner Zeitschrift für Soziologie und Sozialpsychologie, Angewandte Sozialforschung, Die Fleischerei) and in Dutch (Sociologische Gids, Mens en Maatschappij, Sociale Wetenschappen, Tijdschrift voor Arbeidsvraagstukken, Industrie Magazine, Tijdschrift voor Politieke Ekonomie, Sociaal Maandblad Arbeid, DEMOS - Bulletin over Bevolking en Samenleving, Tijdschrift Ziekenhuis-hygiëne en Infektiepreventie, Tijdschrift Vleesdistributie en Vleestechnologie). He published some 100+ professional articles, presentations, interviews and conference papers.
